BCE partners with BCNEXXT to integrate Vipe playout solution into Media-as-a-Service platform, enabling faster channel launches, flexible scaling, and cost-efficient playout in a multi-cloud environment.
Luxembourg, April 8 — Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE), a European media technology and services partner, today announces a technology partnership with BCNEXXT, a Netherlands-based company specializing in cloud-native systems for linear, VoD, and OTT publishing.
Through this collaboration, BCE has integrated BCNEXXT’s Vipe playout solution into its Media-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, enabling customers to rapidly launch and manage TV channels in a flexible, cost-efficient way.
As broadcasters face increasing pressure to accelerate channel launches and simplify operations, flexible playout solutions have become critical.
Media-as-a-Service (MaaS) is a modular, cloud-based approach that enables media organizations to access, store, manage, process, and distribute content on demand. The platform provides a unified environment to manage content, workflows, and operations across applications and infrastructure, designed to integrate existing systems and support real-world media operations.
With the integration of Vipe, BCE strengthens its MaaS ecosystem by adding advanced playout capabilities accessible directly to customers through its platform.
Vipe is an intelligent playout solution for broadcasters and media content distributors, enabling them to launch channels in just a few hours or days and manage them easily from a single interface. Leveraging adaptive logic and machine learning, it replaces traditional rule-based playout systems with a more intelligent and automated approach. Its “pay only for what you play” model breaks the conventional link between channels and dedicated infrastructure, enabling significantly reduced resource consumption and lower operational costs.
The integration enables broadcasters to launch channels faster, scale services on demand, and align costs with actual usage through a pay-as-you-go model, particularly suited to dynamic channel strategies such as FAST and thematic channels. The use of pre-transcoded content with automated quality control further enhances reliability and ensure on-air broadcast quality.
By combining BCNEXXT’s technology with BCE’s operational expertise, the solution goes beyond playout software to deliver a fully managed service. BCE can support customers across the entire channel lifecycle, from channel preparation to launch and ongoing operations. This includes content ingestion, playlist creation, graphics insertion, playout management, and distribution.
Through its 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC), BCE ensures service reliability, performance, and quality of delivery while significantly reducing the operational complexity and enabling teams to focus on content and audience growth.
Delivered within BCE’s Media-as-a-Service platform, the solution supports multi-cloud deployment strategies, allowing customers to deploy on their preferred infrastructure while ensuring data sovereignty and maintaining control over their existing and future environments.
“By integrating Vipe into our Media-as-a-Service platform, we enable customers to launch channels faster and operate them more efficiently across complex environments,” said Nicolas Serres, Head of Architecture at BCE. “This partnership combines performance, flexibility, and a cost-effective approach that meets the evolving needs of broadcasters.”
"We are very pleased that after an extensive evaluation, BCE chose Vipe to be part of their MaaS platform" said Graham Sharp, VP of Sales & Marketing, BCNEXXT. "Vipe provides intelligence, flexibility, and a fundamentally much more attractive cost model to playout.’
This collaboration reflects BCE’s strategy to deliver agile, scalable, and operationally efficient media solutions. By combining cloud-native innovation with strong integration and operational capabilities, BCE and BCNEXXT empower broadcasters to adapt to evolving market demands while maintaining control over costs, infrastructure, and operations.
